Astrometallurgy and mining on the moon

Why limit your mining dreams to Earth?

Armalcolite is an opaque, bluish-grey titanium dioxide mineral rich in magnesium and iron. First collected from the Sea of Tranquility on the Moon in 1969, it is also found in basalt rock, granite, lamproite, and kimberlite. The matrix is built by small, elongated crystals, forming at low pressure and high temperatures, followed by quick cooling.

Extremely rare samples have been discovered sparingly in Greenland, Germany, the USA and Western Australia. Read about the amazing discoveries and high potential applications for the crystal on Earth here. Perhaps some day opportunities for working in mining will expand to the Moon - and maybe beyond?
